Troop 730 Merit Badge Day 2013

Thank you for your past Support!

Due to policy changes made by National BSA (see 2013 Guide to Advancement we regret we are no longer able to hold our Troop 730 Merit Badge Day. This event was successfully held each year as a troop fundrasing activity, which BSA now actively discourages. While merit badge days are not prohibited outright, it will be difficult to get such an event approved by SGV Council and still be financially viable for our troop as well as our host, Church of the Bretheren Pomona Fellowship.
We are aware many troops from our area benefitted by taking merit badges that were not offered in their own troop, or cannot rely solely on Summer Camp programs to complete their merit badge requirements. We hope local councils will fill regional needs for affected troops by offering additional merit badge training events. Meanwhile, we continue to offer merit badge instruction to our troop internally, and seek other fundraising opportunities for 2014.
Thank you to all attending scouts, instructors, and volunteers on making past Merit Badge Days such a huge success. You will find a link to photos of the last eventĀ here.
